Maria Tzirozidou
Maria Tzirozidou was born in Athens in 1975. She graduated from the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. For the last fifteen years she lives and works as a teacher of art at the public schools in Sifnos island.
Her latest work is called "Cycladic Gardens". In this, the artist tries to render and convey the atmosphere of the landscape of the gardens in her immediate environment and in this way to propose her own approach to Cycladic aesthetics. The repetition of the plant motifs, the greens of the winter, the purples of the lavender flower, the yellows and earthy colors of the summer, the wildflowers of spring are her inspiration. The liquidity and softness of the watercolor are the means it uses to render the emotion that this landscape is causing.
Her works are in private collections in Greece and abroad.
She has exhibited in Athens and other cities.
