Sharon Grimes

Sharon Grimes

Sharon Grimes creates “a feast for the eyes,” as stated by the curator of La Posada de Santa Fe and Spa, Sara Eyestone. Her contemporary abstract works leap off the wall and into their viewer’s mind through the use of scintillating colour and contrast, compelling texture, and skilful composition. Her work speaks through abstraction to evoke timeless subjects such as the energy of life, the awe-inspiring perfection of nature, and the unimaginable expanse of our universe.

Grimes has been a life-long artist. As a child, she sketched every animal and person in her vicinity. Later as a young artist in her 20s, she feeds her passion and inspiration through frequent gallery visits in whatever city she found herself, including a year abroad in London.

Her art speaks for itself, easily garnering audiences in group exhibitions at institutions such as RW Norton Gallery in Shreveport, LA, in festivals such as Kilgore Art Festival in Kilgore, TX, and most recently in one of Miami Art Basel’s satellite exhibitions, Red Dot. Her work has been featured in a solo show with Arcadia in Tyler, TX and garnered her the position of the finalist in a 2014 Hunting Art Prize. Grimes’ art lives in many private collections throughout the United States, including P’s Gallery in Longview and Alex Art International in Sarasota.
