Ashly Sypherd
I am a 25 year old Multiracial woman from Pomona, CA.
I am an emerging multimedia collage artist working with organic and inorganic matter to create each piece. I studied Sociology with a minor in Black Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. During my stay at UCSB Ibegan my relationship with collage art. While at University of California, Santa Barbara, I participated in the Transformative Pedagogy Project where I worked alongside with community activists and racial justice scholars.
This greatly influenced my works and shaped the person I am today. After college I became a Behavioral Therapist where I provide service for children with developmental delays. I have also began a community table talk, The Ebony Table, in light of the social injustice prevalent in today’s society. Currently, I am enrolled in a Master’sprogram with National University studying Applied Behavioral Psychology.
I am also working with 'Its-In-Scope' to redefine the archival process in which Black U.S. citizens record their lives and the lives of others.
