Ring two of a small series called "Broken Pieces". Inspired by "Kintsugi", the Japanese method for repairing broken ceramics. The philosophy behind the technique is to recognize the history of the object and to visibly incorporate the repair into the new piece instead of disguising it. To Sheila, everything comes with a story, and it has always hurt her to have to throw something away that she cherished for years. This series emphasises the fact that we live in a throw-away society, and expresses the wish to mend things instead of throwing them away when they break.
